 I feel your pain! I totally understand the need for a ‘quick’ fix in regards to tightening your skin. I’ve worked with many celebrities that needed
to either lose weight quick for a project or film, or they needed to tighten their skin for a next day photo shoot. I’ll let you in on my insider secrets. When it comes to getting their skin ready for the red carpet, celebrities don’t hold anything back!
They have their esthetician on speed-dial and will pay thousands to get instant skin tightening results. The treatments they get are not the typical ones you see advertised at your nearest facial spa. These procedures are often used together and include opulent vitamin infused skin care products for lasting results. Cryotherapy or “Freeze Therapy
 Cryotherapy is a non-invasive facial treatment that uses a beam of vaporized liquid nitrogen to rapidly cool the skin below freezing. This causes a tightening of the
microcirculation bloodstream known as vasoconstriction. The dilation of the blood vessels and capillaries help to flush out toxins and impurities from the skin. The procedure is only 10 minutes and the skin tightening results are immediate. Many estheticians combine this treatment with others to ‘supersize’ the results. The cost of treatment
varies (average is $75.00) and is usually an ‘add-on’ to other therapies.
Near Infrared (NIR) Skin Tightening
 The NIR procedure uses a safe level of infrared light that is able to penetrate the deeper layers of skin. The light energy heats the water in the skin tissue and causes
collagen fibers to contract and tighten. It also stimulates fibroblasts to repair skin cells and produce new collagen. This helps to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and gives long-lasting firmness to sagging skin. Because the NIR light energy only heats the deeper layer of skin that contains collagen, it leaves the top, surface layer unaffected. Results can be seen immediately, and it takes 2-3 months to see the total results as your skin continues to create new collagen.
The results will last 2-3 years. The cost is around $500 – $3500 dollars.
Ultrasonic Facials
An ultrasonic facial is a facial that begins with many facials; cleansing, exfoliation, and massage, but also involves using an ultrasonic device. The device produces sound waves that break down the ingredients in the skincare products used during the facial into nano-particles for deeper penetration. Ultrasonic facials cost $135-$300 dollars.
Radio Frequency For Skin Tightening
 When a facial includes radio frequency technology, it’s like having a non-surgical face-lift. Radiofrequency energy is induced into the skin, which causes the skin to
reshape and contract along with stimulating new collagen growth. The results can be seen immediately but may take more treatments depending on the level of tightening desired. Many celebrities get a course of 10 treatments at 1 or 2 a week. The cost of the treatments vary, but the average is $300.00 – $500.00 a treatment.
Ultherapy
The in-office treatment uses focused ultrasound waves to heat deep layers of skin tissue, stimulating collagen production while bypassing the skin’s surface. The result is a subtle but visible tightening with no downtime. The procedure, which allows a doctor to look at the target area on a screen while aiming the waves, was cleared by the FDA for lifting and tightening the brow area in 2009, and recently got the go-ahead for the neck and chin. Now it’s being studied for the
treatment of wrinkles around the lips. Because it takes time for new collagen to develop, results can take two to three months to see, but the lifting effect (a tighter jaw!) lasts at least a year. The cost is $2,000.00 to $6,000.00.
Skin Tightening Like The Stars
 So, Rhonda, If paying $75-$6,000 for a procedure to firm up, tighten, and get rid of wrinkles and crepey skin like the Stars is out of your price range, you can
use similar home devices. You will have to do research on the best ones available. Whether or not you get a professional skin tightening treatment, or if you use a DIY skin-tightening device, you will need a product to help keep the results.
In addition, I highly recommend you follow a holistic health regime that includes eating healthy. Make sure to include lots of green vegetables and fruit along with eating protein. Protein is needed to help produce collagen in your skin.
Also, don’t forget about exercise and most importantly, getting and staying HYDRATED!! NO product or procedure or treatment will work effectively if your skin is not hydrated. Drink at least 64 ounces of water daily!
