In May of 2007, I was featured on the cover of People Magazine for losing 100 pounds. I wasn’t able to lose the weight on my own. Water keeps your skin moisturized and hydrated. For example when you think of a piece of dried fruit. It is just fruit with the water extracted from it. That’s how the skin wrinkles if our cells are not able to utilize water properly or if we are not getting enough water. If you’re not getting enough water, you can have loose sagging skin. Get Enough Protein – I can’t stress this enough. Literally, every tissue that makes up our body and gives your body shape and definition is made of protein. When you’re not getting enough protein, your body can’t make the collagen that helps your skin stay tight and firm or elastin gives your skin elasticity which prevents over-stretching and sagging skin. Follow A Low-Glycemic Diet. Eating a diet high in carbs produces too much sugar in your blood system which can result in inflammation and flabby skin. In addition to following a low-carb diet, adding superfood powders to your diet can help. They contain lots of antioxidants and phytonutrients to help fight the free radicals that create rapid aging. When you are dieting, you are eating less. Adding superfood powders to your food or in a protein smoothie can help you get the nutrients without adding too many calories to your day. Combine Cardio With Weight Training Adding weight training or resistant training to your workouts will help create tight, firm, skin while you’re losing. Your skin has to form around your muscles and if your muscles are weak and deteriorating from lack of protein and muscle strengthening, then you will have loose skin. Doing cardio burns fat, but it will also burn your muscle. When you add strength training to your workouts you’ll notice your skin will become tighter faster. Follow a Dry Brushing Ritual and Follow Up With Skin tightening Creams that really Work Another way to help tighten your skin is by dry brushing your skin 2-3 times per week. It’s a type of exfoliating you do with a special brush designed for this purpose. You use soft upward strokes all over your body before showering.
